JHS Germanium Boost: Josh ne ha fatta un'altra delle sue

Nuovo clone del Dallas Rangemaster, stavolta è il turno di JHS che ha trovato dei rari OC71 NOS. Abbastanza per costruire 700 esemplari. 

 

 

 

 

 

La cosa divertente della vicenda è che Josh ha preparato una lettera farsa pre-stampata per gli haters del marchio che ricorda più o meno vagamente le rimostranze sentite per il Boss TB-2 ma anche per molti pedali boutique (troppo caro, perché in edizione limitata?, gestite l'azienda da schifo, dentro ci sono 9$ di componenti) e che riporto qui per intero prima che sparisca da Dropbox (chiaramente qualcuno del forum in passato deve aver commentato sotto i suoi video, altrimenti non si spiega la parte dedicata a chi giudica i pedali dai colori e dai pomelli!)

The worst part of this is you are just trying to turn a profit as a business owner. $249?! I could build this pedal at home for $9. Why not make it for free and let your company go out of business like a real man?

You are stupid and I hope you get hit by a car when you are walking across the parking lot at Trader Joe’s sometime before the new year.

Oh yeah, tell Nick he sucks. And Addison sucks...You guys couldn't play REAL rock music if it came up and bit you on the leg. And tell the rest of your little hipster doofus characters who bow to your every move that they are also dumb.

La letterina ironica è divertente ma anche la banalizzazione paracula di un problema reale legato alle sempre più frequenti limited edition.

Scommetto che una buona metà dei 700 pedali non verrà neanche aperta e fra una settimana sarà a prezzi raddoppiati su Reverb e simili, sinceramente c'è poco da ridere.

Concordo.
Ormai dove c'è scritto Limited Edition ci sono gli scalper: dischi, pedali, chitarre, biglietti dei concerti.
Vedi il boss tone bender waza craft ad esempio.

Vista la tiratura e il tipo di pedale 250$ non sembrano neanche tantissimi, poi che finiscano su Reverb a prezzi stellari nel giro di una settimana come dice andtrea è probabile, e neanche colpa del produttore a dirla tutta.

Lui fa il suo mestiere, che è quello di costruire pedali. Se poi i chitarristi scambiano i pedali per bitcoin o obbligazioni da comprare all'emissione e su cui avere guadagni del +100/+200%, non può farci nulla. Basta non comprarli.

 

D'altronde più passa il tempo più mi convinco che la bella musica, al di là di certe brutali ipersemplificazioni, la fa il musicista e non il gear. Ti serve un treble booster per fare brian may e "rori galletta"? Benissimo, ci sono 8mila treble booster sul mercato altrettanto ben suonanti (Throbak Strange Master, HBE Germania 44, ecc...), anche con gli OC71 se vuoi. Non per forza devi andare sul pedale in tiratura limitata che sparisce in 7 minuti.

Questo ad esempio è un builder tedesco che non si fila nessuno, è così sconosciuto che forse nemmeno sua moglie sa che costruisce pedali. Usa transistor NOS al germanio e dà la possibilità di scegliere tra diverse varianti (OC71, 75, 44, ecc..) che non costano molto (150$) e suonano. Se poi vuoi a tutti i costi il treble booster a tiratura limitata a 800$....
